I just finished reading the new book by Stephenie Meyer, The Host. Most of you might recognise this author through her previous works, the New York Times Best Seller-Twilight Saga. If you're hoping for another vampire love story, I'm sorry to say but The Host ain't it. This book is actually a Sci-Fi book, which isn't my favourite genre at all but I decide to give a try because Ms Meyer said The Host is a Sci-Fi novel, I quote "Science fiction for people who don't like science fiction". And thank goodness it's true. I found myself eager to turn to the next page. This is actually the first Sci-Fi book that I manage to read and finish! The last time I came accross a Sci-fi book was 10 years ago when a friend of mine lent me his book, 'Star Wars'. I remember reading two pages of the book and the I threw it under my bed. :P. (I'm not really a Sci-Fi fans, books, tv or movies).What is this books all baout? It's about Wanderer a.k.a Wanda who happens to be an invading soul that invade a body of a human, Melanie Stryder. Melanie was a human that manage to escape being invade by the 'soul' but somehow she manage to be captured and was implant with a soul named Wanda. The Host tells us the story about Melanie who refuse to let Wanda invade her mind , thus feeding Wanda with all her human emotions. This lead to Wanda feeling things that she never felt before. I like this book. It gives us meaning of survival and loves. If you are strong and when you are surrounded by those who loves you, no matter what happened, no one can claim you or destroy you.
